Registration to the 5th Coral Reef Ecology Symposium is now open!

We are delighted to announce that the 5th Coral Reef Ecology Symposium will be held at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology (MPIMM) on 22 May 2015.
This Symposium is jointly organized by Sebastian Ferse (REPICORE Coordinator), Astrid Gärdes (ZMT and MPIMM), Christian Wild (Univ. of Bremen), and Marianna Mea (MPIMM).

The programme has a central focus on the field of coral reef ecology and consists of four thematic plenary sessions with one keynote speaker and several short presentations.

We are very pleased to announce the following invited speakers:

– Forest Rohwer (Professor at San Diego State University): Coral versus Algal Holobionts
– Magnus Nyström (Associate Professor & Senior Lecturer, Stockholm Resilience Centre): Navigating global reef futures
– Dick van Oevelen (Tenure Track, Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research): Surviving in a marine desert: the sponge loop retains resources within coral reefs
– Valeriano Parravicini (Associate Professor, Centre de Recherches Insulaires et Observatoire de l’Environnement): Global ecology and biogeography of reef fishes
